This Movie Shocked Me

Wow. I heard about this movie from the internet and friends and family who have small kids, they all loved this movie. I honestly did not think this movie would be good, but I had a free weekend so I decided to go and see it before it left theaters. I loved this movie, this was a darn good movie. Everything was right from the writing, to the plot twist, to the voice acting. I do like the story, even though I have to go with Bogo on some of this. Yes, Judy did a good thing, but she did leave her post. On her second day.

I do love Nick, he's probably my favorite character next to Bellwether. I would talk about Bellwether more, but I don't want to spoil anything. Lets just say she's my favorite character for good and bad reasons. Overall, the movie is worth the watch and you don't have to borrow other people's kids. I recommend this movie, highly recommend it. The only sin I have with this movie is that Gazelle doesn't have more lines. Yes her song plays throughout the movie, but I wanted Shakira to have more of a role in this movie rather than just the voice of reason. I hope she gets more love in the sequel...if there's a sequel. Hopefully, there won't be a sequel.

The problem with Bogo is that he comes off as quite a jerk for the most part before Nick points out to him that he essentially set Judy up to fail by giving her a short deadline and no support on a case that the department hasn\'t been able to solve. While he does back down from firing her right then and there, it comes off more as him being shamed into doing so than him undergoing genuine Character Development for the better (perhaps a better case of the latter would be him at least hearing her out, conceding that he\'d expected- and was hoping- that she\'d fail, but acknowledging that she\'d done better than he\'d thought and giving her another chance). If there\'s a sequel, I could personally see Bogo throwing Judy under the bus at the first sign of trouble, forcing her and Nick to investigate on their own once again. As such, I do have to wonder whether we\'re meant to agree with him about Judy pursuing the thief, since that decision indirectly pays off for Judy in the long run.

As for the review, it largely was meandering and didn\'t go into much detail about some things (the writing, the plot twist and the voice acting are all mentioned in one sentence), while going into too much detail about others, such as Bogo and Gazelle, so it\'s not very useful as a recommendation for the movie.

I can kind of see where Bogo is coming from. He is pretty justified in not expecting much out of some loud-mouthed rookie from the academy, though he certainly could have handled it better. He at least turns around and straight up calls her a \"good cop\" once she proves him wrong. I don\'t personally see him turning on her again after that point. Nick, on the other hand...

This is probably the only time where I\'ve wanted a Disney sequel, so I\'m definitely not against the idea. There is simply too much potential to waste on a single installment.

I\'m sorry if this review is a little lacking, but I\'m still new to giving my reviews to stuff like this. This site is still new to me. I promise to grow the more I\'m on here. I\'m usually just a reader of tropes and not actually writing them.
