ML Anderson 0 - Difficult...

All right, let me clarify this right away, ML Anderson 0 is not by any means terrible, hell it isn't even bad. At worst it's a 'meh' series, at best it's a 'very good' series. The series does have a good few positives and strengths that it plays to, but the flaws, while generally fewer do weigh more in the bigger picture.

What the series does right; ML Anderson 0 has a relativity small cast of characters making it easy for the audience to keep track. The characters feel human too, they have flaws and do the wrong thing sometimes and the tension and drama between Shawn and Michael is actually pretty believable. As far as special effects go, it's nothing particularly amazing, however it's at least creative in it's distortion using colour and sound in a unique way. The camera work is...fine for the most part, I've never struggled to see what's there or struggle to understand what's going on visually in a scene. ML Anderson 0 actually has an interesting story to tell, with enough ambiguity to keep a viewer guessing.

What the series falls flat on; Static shots of people talking litter the entire series and they pretty much always happen when something important happens. which would be fine, if it didn't immediately slow the whole thing down. Whenever something important happens, the camera gets put on a table, and we are treated to a static 3 minute scene of the characters talking about said important thing. This takes away from any urgency the audience is supposed to feel, and if it only happened once or twice it would be less of an issue, but it happens incredibly often, too often. On that note, the series is very talky with often little showing, which is ... distracting and irritating in a visual media. It's not really spoon feeding since we only ever know what that characters know, but it's still very frustrating.

All in all it's not a terrible watch, as I said, the story is interesting and well thought out. The characters and interactions between them feel real and feel human, and acting steadily gets better as the series goes on. However it's not without it's faults, so bear that in mind when watching it.

Final verdict, is it worth a watch? Yes, it's a well written piece of work with an interesting plot and good characters. It has flaws but honestly it's hard to be perfect and despite the flaws it's still enjoyable.
