Pretty, but not to my taste

There is no doubt that the movie is a feast for the eyes, but I don't find the story to be a feast for the mind. For my taste, it's too episodic. The first time I watched it, I had to leave part way through to take an emergency phone call. Twenty minutes later, I walked back in and found that I hadn't really missed anything. That sums up my overall response to the movie. You don't really miss anything if you don't see it. True, there's a story arc for both Marlin and Nemo, but neither one is an arc that requires a full-length movie.

It's still very pretty, I will always grant that, though.

I never thought being semi-episodic in structure was a bad thing. It helps to flesh out the setting IMO, having different adventures with different sea creatures and such.

Plus, for a movie aimed at all ages, I think being able to walk out for 20 minutes, come back in, and still understand the plot is a plus.

Not sure if I'd put it as high as UP though. Probably equal in all honesty.

It's not, in and of itself, a bad thing to be episodic. Many great stories are very episodic and ought to stay such, IMO. I love Alice in Wonderland (the original book) and that's very much "Alice going from one thing to the next." I just didn't find the overall story strong enough to pull me through from episode to episode.

My alignment is Chaotic Cute.

I actually preferred that this film was episodic in its adventures. I felt that Up, which has a similar journey premise, was less than it could have been because too much time was given to plot of the villain suddenly appearing and foiling everything, and not enough to the wonders of the jungle they were traveling through. Lots of potential was wasted. Finding Nemo's wasn't.
