Vindicated by History: To an extent; people still don't consider it good but it's regarded as being better than some of the more recent Tom and Jerry movies that have been released (namely the infamous crossover films such as Tom and Jerry and the Wizard of Oz and Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory; and derivative as this is, it's still considered to have more originality than those). It became more pronounced after the release of Tom & Jerry (2021), which several fans and critics consider to be even worse than this film.

Do people really think that? Because from what I've seen, most people seem to agree that the 2021 movie is better (if not by much) and truer to the characters.
