"Justified" and "subversion" can't be applied to an Audience Reaction, though. Also, "probably" is not a good reason to contest a YMMV item.

I don't think What An Idiot really applies to Ash and his Cyndaquil/Totodile. Consider that Charizard and Squirtle (Ash's earlier starter Pokemon) were Put on a Bus before the movie's story, and because of how they were (temporarily)dismissed from the anime, Ash couldn't just summon them via PC transfer. Totodile and Cyndaquil were probably the best option besides Pikachu for Ash until Charizard came on his own. I say this is a justified subversion.
