Pulled this out. It only fulfills the first part of the trope, being anvilicious, without establishing how that anviliciousness improved the movie compared to how less anvilicious wouldn't have.

I cannot find a single review or evaluation of this film that suggests these are the anvils that were dropped. Going against "Positive Discrimination" or "Condescending Compassion", in particular from liberal sources, is something completely invented in this film and is a misunderstanding of the very basic anvils that WERE dropped.

The anvil that was dropped? Racism is bad. People are still exploiting black bodies. Its about placing the viewer into the fear that Black people feel in reality. By creating a science fiction exploitation, that exploitation and the feeling it evokes can be, in some ways, more relatable.

The Armitage Family seeks to exploit black bodies because of some percieved physical superiority. The term "Positive Discrimination" used on TV tropes is about showing or dealing with a typically discriminated group and not showing their flaws or making them too perfect. The "Positive Discrimination" that the above sentences are discussing is a political concept where-in race is taken as a factor when providing scholarships or entrance rates. In other words, things like Affirmative Action. And if you think the film Get Out has arguments against Affirmative Action, I don't know what film you watched. The Armitage family would be better analogized by Sports Leagues who tend to be ran by predominately white individuals, but the sports and the bodies involved in them have a much higher level of minority distribution. The two concepts of "Positive Discrimination" are only related in the most shallow of concepts.

Further, a perspective of anti-liberalism being in Get Out is ridiculous. Perhaps a perspective against shallow leftism, with the whole "I would have voted for Obama a third time"... but in the back the Armitage is still taking advantage of black people. Yeah. But the suggestion that Get out is a film against leftist treatment of minorities is effectively to argue the "Democratic Plantation" Idea that leftists are controlling black people for votes and through pandering, and by giving things like welfare, they are actually keeping black people in bondage.

And if you can find ANYWHERE... absolutely anywhere that suggests any of the creators of Get out believe that the "Democratic Plantation" idea is real? Or that the film is attempting to deal with that subject? Because it doesn't exist.

These supposed Anvils are the attempt of right-wingers to say "Aha! This movie is actually against leftists!"... Its not. The bad guys are traditionalists of white people with old money exploiting and believing themselves the 'saviors', putting black bodies to better use, ultimately because the white people in the film still see themselves as superior. And they see black bodies as being there for their use.

Seriously. If anyone is going to invoke this stuff, they better be able to show real reputable reviews on this to back it up, because otherwise I think its obviously full of crap. Its like saying the film Captain America is about the dangers of meddling with chemicals.
