I think we should remove the Ending Aversion trope from the YMMV page.

While the ending has its flaws, I don't think it's fair to put it on the list due to how it will continue in part 2 and how the changes will be intergrated.

I think we should waited 6 months to put it on the Broken Base trope since there is people who don't hate this ending as much as people thought.

Can someone explain Author's Saving Throw to me? I thought it was a creator fixing a problem that the fanbase had with a piece of media and that that problem existed for some time and was either a big point of contention or a cause of the media as a whole declining in quality.

As such, is the example given about Tifa not being shown really an example of a saving throw? SE were bound to include her in a trailer at some point anyways, given her popularity, and she hasn't been absence for the franchise for a long time, given she's been in Dissidia and etc.

I get the Cloud and Aerith examples with their personalities being brought back in line with the OG, and their personalities becoming flanderised over the Compilation was both a problem in the franchise that existed for a long time and something that people felt mirrored a decline of the franchise as a whole.

But the Tifa not being shown doesn't seem like an example. The two trailers, one with Tifa and one without, came out in pretty close succession of each other. And Tifa being absent isn't a complaint fans have had about the Compilation as a whole, nor have they used it as something to indicate the general decline in the quality of the media being produced.

Tl:dr; but I don't think a subset of fans getting impatient for their favorite character to be shown is a reflection of the quality of FF 7 R or an indication of how FF 7 R is fixing older problems, and I don't think it's comparable with the other two examples given.

If my understanding of the saving throw is right, can the example be cut?
