This game has a quirky progression system and deserves some tips, as below.

The beeping lootboxes hidden in the map are a great way to upgrade your vehicles in the beginning of the game...

...Except boats are that much harder to upgrade. Since the upgrades only work for the class you were driving when you picked the boxes up... yes, you can park next to the boxes, turn into a boat, then open it. Specially tricky in slopes, but you can park ABOVE the box, and let the boat slide into range and get wedged against it, then open it. No wonder the game lets you switch at will from any vehicle to another.

Feel free to get a nice rally car that works well in the mud while you look for them, then park neatly near them and switch before picking them up. You can switch into any other class, like F1/ A class or Demolition Derby cars that would easily get damaged off-road or simply not work at all without asphalt.

- Additionally, the helicopter counts for the off-road (or plane?) class for some reason. Anyway, nothing prevents you from landing a plane and TAXING to the box to open it.

- The sub-class must be pre-chosen on the quick-switch buttons. If you change to any class via the menu, the game will spawn you near a road... and the box disappears.

- You can also bind hovercrafts to the off-road class and get boxes for them.
