This was removed , was it not factual?

"The codes to Edna's safe and the code to the secret lab's door are both necessary to win. These codes vary from game to game, but they only vary between a few possibilities, so if you are using a walkthrough giving you the possible codes or you have them from previous plays, it is still technically possible to win.room."

Maybe I'm overthinking the Vanity Publishing entry (which was removed). After all is not even a narrative or common trope so the subversion angle can be excessive. My take on a worthy mention is the game sets it up a joke about trash publishing and then it turns out it actually has to have any merit but then again it may be reading into what the comercial and name suggest at first.

I definitely agree "they publish anything" is easily read as "they have no quality control," but I'm pretty sure the entire purpose of the "anything" schtick is just to give the player one interchangeable address for a demo tape or a memoir, when those are entirely different industries. Their pitch in the commercial starts out by basically appealing to artists of multiple media: whatever it is you do, call the 3 Guys and we'll help you get it out there. So I don't think vanity publishing is being invoked at all, either to play it straight or to subvert it. There doesn't seem to be any sort of suggestion that there's something odd or contradictory about them rejecting a poorly-written memoir — like "I know we're supposed to publish anything, but I think we'll 'lose' this manuscript" or something.

No problem, I read the edit reason but I was unconvinced so I re-added it, it's my bad. You are right, I missed the the appeal to artists part back in the day and now. The thing is I read it in some other article here in this wiki and added it without further contrast based on the power of the name. Corrected

Oh I see this resurfaced, funny guardianship transpires there [I imagine, "oh, not this junk again" -I kinda waited for you to do it :) ]. Good thing you've killed it in the source, where it originated . I couldn't remember the first time so it lived (We Buy Anything) I've redacted some lines of this as Non-Indicative Name, it seems fitting and settling.

Oh that's definitely a good idea, thanks.

This seems to have been added back by 2-3+ different people, so that's getting into edit warring, despite the gap in years. Careful of that.

Personally I think that the joke is that people do misinterpret the name "We Publish Anything" in-universe, which I can see how people see it as invoking and subverting the trope... except I'm not as sure that We Buy Anything is the right trope, since while the name makes it sound like the opposite of We Sell Everything, as written WBA seems to be more about RPG shops that will pay the player for anything in their inventory. Which is a bit different in scope, despite the similar names.

We Publish Anything might count as We Sell Everything played straight rather than subverted, however? Downplayed, since it's only publishing various media, but it does have that one-store-for-everything mentality you get in comedy.
