When watching this episode, I was thinking, "Poor Grouchy." I mean, he could use some opening up about his feelings to his fellow Smurfs, but I don't see how his fellow Smurfs stalking him for a hug is going to do anything positive for Grouchy. On the other hand, it might result in Grouchy doing this.
Anyway, the rest of the episode has Chlorhydris forcing emotionlessness on everything her Ice Wand touches, including the Smurfs. Grouchy, of course, is put upon to force a hug on the fairy who's being used to use the Ice Wand on others, which makes him feel uncomfortable, but nonetheless does so because deep down he truly cares for his fellow Smurfs, including Papa Smurf. But once that subplot is out of the way...it's back to his fellow Smurfs stalking him like a rabid bunch of rapists.
Not funny and certainly not worth including in the canon of Smurf stories. Society has come a long way from forcing unwanted touches upon anyone, but it apparently still has a long way to go.
