Call-Back: After Ruby hits her Rage Breaking Point, she snaps at Weiss about finding "someone who doesn't screw everything up", referring to Weiss' early attacks on Ruby being a leader back in Volume 1. When she rants to Yang about "smiles all around" and "gotta stay positive", she's referring to Yang's pep talk in Volume 8, where she tells Ruby they can't hang onto blind optimism, but they need hope.
Are we sure that these are genuine call-backs? Blake's earlier attempts to put a positive spin on things while Weiss comments about them finding a guide they can actually rely on triggers Ruby into starting a rant, but she's interrupted by the Purple People Pleaser, so is she really doing a call back to earlier volumes, or is this just a follow on from the earlier conversation in this same episode?
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.
