It's easy to disqualify a character as a Hate Sink simply because "I don't like a thing about him/her", but I think anyone with food allergies or digestive disorders could easily sympathize with Zesty Gourmand. I'm not necessarily saying that IBringDaLulz or I should be food critics; I just think Hate Sink is being thrown around too liberally in recap pages.

Good point. Let's not dilute the meaning of a trope that much.

I respect your observation, but I somehow overlooked any mention of Zesty having allergies or whatever and I felt she was intended to be a Hate Sink because it is frankly hard to sympathize with a person who forces their viewpoints onto others.

If anyone can tell me where in the episode it says that Zesty Gourmand said or as said to have an allergy or a digestive disorder, I'd like to know.

In the event that this evidence somehow proves that Zesty isn't intentionally unlikeable, I believe it would be wise to remove he entry for Hate Sink altogether instead of just commenting it out.

I was just speaking from my own intolerance for alliums (and getting fed up with gourmands responding with "I couldn't possibly imagine cooking without onions!") and Lulz's IBS; I realize there is no justification in this episode for Zesty's peculiar interpretation of what qualifies as proper nouveau cuisine. I wouldn't be surprised if this is explored in a future episode though, considering the series' focus on continuity and her apparent prominence in Canterlot.

Personally I found Zesty delightful as a Control Freak, Caustic Critic, and an In-Universe example of He Panned It, Now He Sucks!. These and other tropes on the recap page, along with the YMMV Designated Villain, more than adequately cover what some viewers interpret as Hate Sink. Removing the entry now.
