Is this an accurate trope for this episode? All the subversions of Never Say Die I could find had people directly mentioning death and dying. I think it's played with, though, since the subject of the trope was never in danger of dying to begin with and was only using hyperbole.
Never Say "Die": Played with. When Donald is on three day leave in part three, he never says the punishment for being late coming back. He only mimes being hung. Toyed with, though, in that his superior officer only threatens to put Donald on kitchen duty.
