Where exactly did Microdisney's name come from? Does anyone have any information? I commented out the Line-of-Sight Name entry on this page that DID explain where the name came from because the information I looked up seemed to contradict what was said. "Microdisney was a tabloid nickname for a Butlins holiday camp in a particularly religious part of Ireland" and said it was closed down because Irish religious nationalists thought it brought "American debauchery", and then turned into a refugee camp. The one Irish OR Butlins holiday camp I could find that seemed to fit the description is Butlin's Mosney, which does seem a few letters redacted from "Microdisney", however, the details don't add up. There was some Catholic opposition to Butlins' Mosney back when it was FIRST BUILT in the late 1940s, and it didn't get turned into a refugee camp until years AFTER Microdisney disbanded.

The one thing I could find on Microdisney that actually has the question "Where did the name come from?" answered by Cathal Coughland himself is this interview (http://bubbyworld.com/microdisney/interview.htm ) and it still doesn't really answer the question much. Cathal himself just refers to it as a "Verbal Distortion" and implies it's nothing more than a Take That! towards the Disney we all know and love (or hate depending on who you are).
