The trope's description really doesn't fit the examples anymore. Looking at only the series with which I am familiar, around half do not actually match what the trope is supposed to be about. For example, the page's picture and first example are of Satsuki from Tsukihime. The problem is, she was never actually a friend of Shiki's, just barely managing to qualify as an acquaintance. The whole 'friendship barrier' was never there to be challenged. An example of one that's wrong for a different reason is Kotomi from Clannad. She was a childhood friend, yes, but Tomoya doesn't even remember her. She's just a love interest that happened to be a childhood friend, but they never grew up together or anything similar as this trope implies. This is not the only example, either. The page should either be cleaned up or the definition worked around to fit the examples better.

Removing examples that don't fit is the better way. When the description starts to chase the examples, the meaning gets lost.

Edited to add: I just cleaned some digressions out of the description. No meaning change.

In that case, I've cleared out some examples from series I'm more familiar with. If some other people could try going through the list for works you're more knowledgeable about it would be appreciated.

Took out an example also, it belonged in victorious childhood friend and was a bit too snarky anyway.
