I don't think it belongs; it looks like pedantry rather than the use of a trope. Splitting something into two roughly equal parts is halving it according to common speech, even if they aren't even at the atomic level.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
I will not add this because I am not sure this goes here, but:
In the Matilda film adaptation, Miss Honey states her father would cut a chocolate every night in HALF and always give her the biggest HALF. Of course, this is impossible (as halves are precisely 50% there cannot be a bigger half), and especially bad as she's a teacher. However, I am not sure that this belongs here, as I have said, so I shall leave it in the discussion page and let people decide.
