I would like to suggest a change in the Zelda entry. It says Hyrule is this trope in the game's series. However, it only lists the weird geography as a reason. There is >extensive< research/fanwank about how the different (or not that much) geography can be explained from game to game. Aside from that, the world of Hyrule is not weirder than any other fantasy world out there (or is Middle-earth a Wonderland because it features non-human races)

Termina, on the other hand, is this very trope (in-universe, and arguable outside of it too). But this Zelda's world is listed as an example in the Bizarro Universe trope. Which is wrong too. Termina is hardly the opposite of Hyrule. It is a very weird Another Dimension, hence the Wonderland. In fact, I didn't know if I should start this topic in the wonderland discussion or the bizarro universe one. So, consider this as a two suggestions for corrections.

So I removed both Mushroom Kingdom and Hyrule from the list

  • The Mushroom Kingdom! In a way, it is very similar to the trope namer. It's full of weird, biologically-impossible creatures with no rhyme or reason for being, it violates every natural law known to man when the Rule of Cool or Rule of Funny requires it, it's a geographic mish-mash of madness (ocean next to a desert next to a forest next to a snowy mountain...), and nothing about its nature or location is ever revealed.
  • Hyrule may also count, especially since the world's geography changes drastically with every game. Granted, the games supposedly take place several years apart from one another, but how does Lake Hylia go from the south to the southeast to the center of the land, or the Lost Woods go from the east to the northwest to the southwest?

Mario doesn't really belong here. Yes the creatures are weird, and the lands are whimsical, but if you list Mario here you have to list a lot of video games especially things from the NES age.

Zelda is even worse. The only thing it mentions is the geography which probably can just be hand waved as Gameplay and Story Segregation. Ignoring the fact that each game has it's own rather different map, the games are typical Fantasy Land stuff.
