Possibly the thrown-shoe-as-insult connotations should be moved either to the main entry or possibly a different trope entirely... in fact, come to think of it, it does sound like a trope, even if it's not nesiccarally a western trope.
If anyone ever cares to put an image here, I vote one from Kamen Rider W.
