"If we make the wrong choice [electing Kerry], then the danger is that we'll get hit again [as in 9/11] — that we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States."
Dick Cheney, 2004

"However they put it, the Democrat (sic) approach in Iraq comes down to this: The terrorists win and America loses"
George W. Bush, October 30, 2006

"And Barack and Hillary have made their intentions clear regarding Iraq and the war on terror. They would retreat and declare defeat. And the consequence of that would be devastating. It would mean attacks on America, launched from safe havens that make Afghanistan under the Taliban look like child's play. About this, I have no doubt."
Mitt Romney, February 7, 2008

"Our opponent ... is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country. This is not a man who sees America as you see America and as I see America."
Sarah Palin, October 2008

Is it just me, or do these quotes seem to be following a pattern? Like, no demonstrative examples of democrats doing the exact same thing?

Plus, Democrats don't take it to the frothing, lunatic extremes of Republicans. Can't remember a Democrat accusing a Republican of being friends with terrorists and wanting to destroy America.

Seriously Sen? Conspiracy theories about Hurricane Katrina and 9/11 ring a bell? Lovely insinuations that Bush was some sort of budding totalitarian and the Patriot Act was setting up the death of American liberties and the dawn of a brave new world where anti-Muslim tyranny and a police state would be the order of the day?

Were you in a coma for the past several years? The Left can get just as bad as the Right. *Believe me on that.*

If you cannot contribute honestly to this article, please refrain from contributing to it *at all.* The fact that this has been allowed to go unchallenged for so long is a disgrace.

ROFL, calling the Democrats leftists. They're a barely centrist right-wing party.

Har, I wish I was.

Don't remember saying anything about conspiracy theorists or theories beyond the fact that they're usually fuckin' idiots.

You actually defending the Patriot Act?

Uh, yeah, because everything I contribute is automatically worthless because I made a somewhat sarcastic remark last year which I can't even remember if I meant seriously or sarcastically? Sure, wotev.

Really gonna need a specific citation on that Swedish election: I got nothing on Wikipedia about the 1948 election, the 1920 one had no universal suffrage, and the SAP still won in 1921 under Branting.

Probably should get working on that essay now...
