Plus, Democrats don't take it to the frothing, lunatic extremes of Republicans. Can't remember a Democrat accusing a Republican of being friends with terrorists and wanting to destroy America.

Lovely insinuations that Bush was some sort of budding totalitarian and the Patriot Act was setting up the death of American liberties and the dawn of a brave new world where anti-Muslim tyranny and a police state would be the order of the day?

Really gonna need a specific citation on that Swedish election: I got nothing on Wikipedia about the 1948 election, the 1920 one had no universal suffrage, and the SAP still won in 1921 under Branting.
