I'd like to discuss this Cersei example:

Game of Thrones: Cersei is known to be pregnant as the end of season 7. While this doesn't explain her increasing Stupid Evil tendencies, it certainly couldn't have helped to restrain them (at one point she comes close to ordering the execution of her brother, lover and only ally Jaime).

My issue with it is that the pregnancy did not cause any change in Cersei's behaviour. She has always been an impulsive, controlling, and spiteful character. A non-pregnant Cersei blowing up the Sept of Baelor makes a pregnant Cersei's bluff to kill Jaime tame in comparison.

Agreed. Pregnancy didn't make her crazy, it just didn't make her saner (which Tyrion thought it would).
