Would placing a shaped charge or a large enough bomb on top of the tank and counting on the fact the top of a tank is the most thinly armoured part count as a Downplayed Trope

I know the image: In Robot Chicken's Star Wars special, it shows what is happening Inside the AT-AT when Luke throws the grenade in. There's a guy on the toilet reading a newspaper... That should be the trope image!

I thought that Molotovs were meant to heat up the ammo compartment until it cooked off? I suppose you could do the same to the crew... getting in through the intake/exhaust to the engine makes SENSE I guess, but it wasn't what I heard.
