"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThere were some sword girls in Batman Arkham City that seem to perfectly fit the in page description. I don't know enough about the Batman mythos to add this as an example however.
I know you'll all hate me, but: "To use an example with a commonly known character, Kamiya Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin would NOT be of this trope."? Really? "Commonly known"? I'll accept that this individual is a good example of a sword-wielding female who is not a Hot Chick with a Sword, but is that descriptor accurate?
Overkill is underratedI just remove Sif and Freyja from Norse Mythology.
While Freyja's indeed goddess of war, I'm yet to encounter anywhere in myth depict her with a sword. Sif is even worse, she's goddess of beauty, wealth, and harvest. Her Action Girl depict seem to come from Dungeons And Dragons's Deities and Demigods sourcebook but not the myth itself.
