Just for fun, I've calculated that you can actually get enough protein, fat, and carbohydrate in the WHO-recommended proportions for a 2000-calorie diet from 56g dried glucose-reduced egg whites, 67g beef tallow, and 303g starch jelly gumdrops. While 15 oz is a rather hefty pill, that's not bad for getting all your major energy requirements. Add a couple pills for your micronutrients (fiber and essential fatty acids would be the major weight there), and you'd probably be able to get it down to less than a pound an a half. Unless you developed a space-age replacement for carbohydrate, though, you're not going to get any better than that. Both the gumdrops and tallow are over 90% pure carbohydrate and fat, respectively, and egg whites are 80% protein.
