Shouldn't this be reversed (title needs changing)? The phrase "Flyover States" is overwhelmingly more common than "Flyover Country". In fact, I can't think of one example (outside of this entry) where the phrase "Flyover Country" is used. It is definitely not "American Slang…", "Flyover States" is, however.

Maybe a *little* heavy on the theme of "No, the Flyover isn't as bad as you've heard! There are *some* liberals here!"

Though this does accurately reflect the patronizing attitudes of this trope.
