I don't know if the ATLA examples counts because I don't know if it includes connotations of her belonging to the moon spirit in some way, but I'll take your word for it. The Mark of Cain definitely counts; I'm not religious and didn't know about it or it would certainly have been added as one of the primary examples (and probably would have made YKTTW less like pulling teeth :P).
When I reread it I saw what you meant about it looking all negative, so I added another paragraph which makes it more positive I think. Thanks for pointing that out.
So, I added two examples, but they're both benign/positive sorts. Could I get some feedback on whether or not those count, and if they do, could some of the wording of the trope description be changed to better include stuff that's not aggressive/unwanted?
