This trope needs to go. It's a "Japanese sub" trope that cannot be applied to any other medium

That doesn't make it worthy of the Cut List, though. If this is a problem, take it to Ask The Tropers or the Trope Repair Shop.

I don't see how that makes it untropeworthy (we have many video game specific tropes) and you can't just cutlist tropes you don't like; take it to TRS.

It's specific to the Japanese language. To make it viable we'd need to change the name and try to see how this trope is expressed in other languages (It's extremely similar to "Mannish woman" tropes that we already have for example)

If we're going to keep it there's a lot of work to do with it to fit the guidelines

Would it count as an example if the character used male pronouns by accident - unsure of which pronoun to use, but, wanting to identify with her male colleague, simply went with the same pronouns he was using. Then she wonders why the natives shoot her funny looks...

I wonder if one could possibly have an English variant of this trope; like, a female character who uses rather gender-specific male terms (like "bro" "dude" and "guy") to refer to herself, and associates herself with other males as if she were the same gender. Would it be a take on this?

EDIT: If the character is referred to with male pronouns (as in "he," "him," etc.), and is acknowledged as male, but about halfway through the plot, they drop a Bridget on someone and reveal the truth.

I removed the picture. As this is entirely a verbal trope it's impossible to show in a visual, and simply having one up there likely confuses people into thinking this is broader than it really is.

See you in the discussion pages.

Removed some girls from Bleach. Although being tomboyish, they don't use boku or ore. The parts removed were:

  • Tatsuki Arisawa in Bleach. Her schoolmate Chizuru, a leeringly blatant Schoolgirl Lesbian, describes her this way to explain why, despite aknowledging Tatsuki as pretty, she's not attacted to her. (She likes her girls girly, like Orihime)
  • ... Not to mention her crazy physical power in her fight with Yammy.
  • Also, Ichigo's little sister Karin and Hiyori Sarugaki from the Vaizards.

Also removed inappropriate Comic Book entry:

  • Liz from Spiderman Loves Mary Jane is a variation on this trope, although she is feisty and sort of violent, she still enjoys girly things like shopping and boys.
