I was thinking the same. I think you can't add alt text to the images in Tv Tropes, unfortunately.

should we add to the page that this is very bad to mobile phone users of webcomics including qwantz.com but not including xkcd.com
can we get some big banners that say "HAS ALT TEXT" on webcomics that have them so we dont get halfway through a archive binge, and go "shit, theres alt text? time to start over"?
Would it be worth our while to also list, separately, comics that sometimes use strip titles as captions in a similar manner? Ozy And Millie used to do it; so does Questionable Content and, to cite a newspaper example, Rhymes with Orange.
Wait a minute. Is this page even about Alt Text? As in the accessibility feature? That's what I was trying to find.
