GIFT: The Ring of Gyges is sort of an Ur-Example: instead of Normal Person+Anonymity+Audience=Total Fuckwad, you get Normal Person+Ring of Invisibility+Tempting Targets=Murderer and Rapist. Same principle, really; it's used to argue that being held accountable for one's actions in the public eye is the only thing keeping us from treating one another like jerks.
