About the Aluminum Christmas Trees example on the main page: I don't know about the cell phone battery thing, but I can say that modern medical implants are completely magnet-safe. I have a relative who has some (pins for a broken ankle), and after a few weeks to make sure everything had settled properly, she was allowed to have MR Is, which use much stronger magnets and actually can produce the effects shown in the book when magnetic metals are exposed to them. Titanium and stainless steel, which are used for most implants, are possibly very slightly magnetic, but at that point other stuff will be reacting too (zippers, etc.).
Would it be possible to get a citation of some sort or a link to the Word of God about metal detectors destroying cell phone batteries or metal implants?
