Ross of Friends discovers in the beginning of season 6 that he and Rachel gotten married while they were intoxicated. Rather than do something sensible like getting the marriage annulled, he decides to stay married to Rachel, despite her protests and he tries to convince her why they should stay married. Ross does all this just to avoid having a 3rd divorce in the span of 5 years.
