In Bender's Big Score, it was revealed that Fry (the Lars version) got to live with his family again after being frozen. It means that his brother, Yancy, didn't live the lonely life of missing him and had 12 years of togetherness. So why does his son Fry Jr. (first man on Mars) still had to live out his uncle's dreams? I can buy the idea that it was because he was an extremely lucky man, but how come the inscription on his tomb still say "Here Lies Philip J. Fry, named for his uncle, to carry on his spirit?"

Who says it does? Do they ever check that after the future has been changed?

Lars/Fry still "dies" when little Philip is a kid, so it still kinda fits in that typical Hollywood/celebrity "Who cares if the timing's messed up, it's close enough" way.
