Re: Executive Meddling, was it ever confirmed that Carano's voice was dubbed? I remember seeing reports that it was digitally pitched down, but still her voice.

Mallory also beats up Irish cops but not American ones, but that's because she had reason to believe they would shoot to kill instead of attempting to arrest her.

I'm not sure that's true - I don't think the Garda Emergency Response Unit does have a shoot to kill policy.

Why do they have MP7s, then? Not to wave hello, I don't think.

I really don't know what their rules of engagement are, though. If you can back it up I'll gladly remove that sentence.

Because (as far as they know) Mallory is a dangerous armed murder who shot two men. Regular GardaĆ are not armed with firearms so they aren't regularly deployed against criminals who are inclined to shoot.

In order to be justified in opening fire a Garda must give warning to the suspect and be certain that 'an immediate and real risk to life' - since Mallory was not visibly armed and the only other people present where the police themselves (ie. she couldn't take a hostage) it's highly unlikely they wouldn't have at least attempted to arrest her.
