The article claims that Gil-Galad couldn't be king as a son of Orodreth. What exactly is the reasoning for such a claim? I can't see one, since everything I know about the Noldor inheritance points towards it being possible. OTOH, the main argument against Fingon as the father is pretty serious: the published version makes in unclear how Turgon even got the title ahead of his nephew. Can someone explain, plase?

This site (dead link) exists to tell Canon apart from fanon, a fairly tricky task since the canon for that particular fandom is notoriously shifty — what with J.R.R Tolkien constantly revising his ideas — and The Film of the Book can't help either.
