Bittersweet Ending: Third Impact is prevented. But with thousands left dead by the preceding battle, including some of the Pilots.
Death by Adaptation: Hikari Horaki, Pilot of Unit 05 . This is because Noriko is able to convince Shinji and Asuka to fight the 13th Angel and attempt a rescue. Commander Ikari doesn't need to trigger the Dummy Plug. All tree Eva's are beaten by the Angel before Unit 05 self-destructs
