Why do people keep saying that Webby has bad social skills? I think they are amazing, especially for someone who spent so much tine in isolation. She understands others' emotions well, she dosen't hurt anyone's feelings, and never gets tired of society.
Edited by EugeneRavenDo the Christmas ghosts qualify for Expy? That trope is defined as "a character from one series who is unambiguously and deliberately based on a character in another, older series". Mickeys Christmas Carol and Ducktales are the different continuities but parts of the same franchise, so I'm not sure they can be called "different series". Characters like Glomgold and Gyro are also very different from their previous incarnations, but they are not expies, just different interpretations of the same character. Would they better fit under Suspiciously Similar Substitute? Or simply adaptations of the same characters?
Should Mrs Beakley, Webby, and Launchpad count as members of the family? They are definitely part of it in a True Companions sense, but not by blood or even adoption.
Hide / Show RepliesYes. Given the family themes and those three being part of it even if not by blood counts as family. Even the creators have said stuff like Webby is the 4th triplet
I could get behind that reasoning, but ProfessorGrimm moved the three over to the section "Allies" anyway. Ultimately, I am fine with either grouping.
Does the show ever refer to Huey, Dewey and Louie as identical triplets? My impression was that they were, but I can't remember any episode explicitly calling them that. If it does, it would fall under Artistic License – Biology, since identical siblings in avians would grow and hatch from the same egg, and the show has a photo of the triplets before they hatched, each in their own separate egg.
Hide / Show RepliesI don't know whether they are meant to be identical triplets - I don't think they were ever referred to as such. On the one hand, they look exactly the same apart from their clothes and hairstyle (their body, head, eyes and beaks are all the same shape). On the other hand, beside hatching from different eggs, they also have different voices, even though identical triplets should sound the same.
"McMystery at McDuck Manor!" has an antagonist that uses two names: Nik Nokturne and Black Arts Beagle. Should we list his character tropes under the former or the latter name? And, related to this, should he be listed together with the Beagle Boys or separately?
To avoid an Edit War: for Gyro and Miss Quackfaster applies Adaptation Personality Change or Adaptational Jerkass?
Hide / Show RepliesSecond one is a subtrope, which I believe is always preferable to use over the supertrope, where applicable.
I don't really see Quackfaster as being necessarily mean, just crazy, so I'm on the fence for her.
Gyro on the other hand, is very conspicuously being rude, and is fully aware that he is being so and just doesn't care because OBVIOUSLY his being a genius gives him carte blanche.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Agree. So Adaptational Jerkass for Gyro and Adaptation Personality Change for Quackfaster?
- Expy: She's got a lot of characteristics in common with Mabel Pines, such as her excitable characterization and owning a grappling hook, although Frank Angones says that she's "still finding her footing", as opposed to how self-assured Mabel was.
This keeps being re-added.
Expy requires the creators to directly state that the new character be deliberately based on the older character. Probable as it may be, I have seen no instance where Angones or anyone else have confirmed a relation between the characters.

Should we give character folders to those introduced in SDCC 2019, coming to Season 3? We already had folders for characters like Fenton/Gizmoduck before they even appeared.
