Actually, better question: Why aren't the Morris and Lecarde families on here, families who are stated to be of the Belmont bloodline in the manual for Bloodlines?

Looking at the Japanese script for Death's defeat I can give what the intention is:
Death: (screams) You, you bastard Vampire Killer of the Belmonts!
Reinhardt: Back to the netherworld with you! I shall send Dracula to join you soon!
Death: (laughs) Don't be so sure, boy! I shall see you very soon in your future! I'll see you in hell yet!!

On Reinhardt's inclusion, the word "Belmont" only appears in the game's script twice. Once in the ending, when Reinhardt talks about the fate of all those who inherit the Belmont blood, and once by Death, where he specifically calls Reinhardt "scum of a Belmont", a term that can easily be parsed as remnants of the true line. With this in mind, I'm not sure why he got bumped directly to Belmont status, at least without discussion.
