More the latter. The only person she attempts to show protectiveness is Litchi, but that utterly fails due to keeping to her brand of 'protectiveness' rather than listening to her actual problems. As of Lambda... she said she's crossing the line and she would be requiring her help in the beginning of story. Pretty much treats her like a pawn, and as an example in the Relius story... she tells Tager to run from him... and then fetches Lambda into him. If she was protective, you'd think she'll just order BOTH to run...
So I won't say she's protective. But on the other hand, I will say that her being disturbingly abusive is more or less an exaggeration by the fans.
Ok, I'm confused. Kokonoe's section talks about how she acts like a protective mother to Lambda and actually cares for her, but I distinctly remember seeing some entries somewhere that said that Kokonoe was disturbingly abusive to her. Which one is true?
