Currently we use Misthios to refer for the Protagonist. Should we change for "Eagle-Bearer"?

Misthios means mercenary, and in game, while it's often used to describe the protagonist, it's also used to describe mercenaries as a whole, or other mercenaries ("We'll see who is the better Misthios" some bounty hunters say during combat, for example).

"Eagle-Bearer" is specifically the title used to refer to the chosen protagonist (And only them). It also has the advantage of being easier to spell for an English audience.

EDIT: I got no clue why the wiki is adding random slashes.

I agree. Eagle-Bearer is specific to the player, while Misthios is more general for the mercs as a whole.

Perhaps this question should be posed on the main page for AC:OD, since this nomenclature exists there tooa, and it’s a more general page for this work.

I think going ahead with Eagle-Bearer works or alternatively Alexios/Kassandra is fine with me. But if you are going to maintain nomenclature with this, yeah do a big clean-up on main-page and then put a Commented out warning in the edit-box so that whoever makes an error in future will simply have to be sent a reminder about the ignored warning.

True, if we do the change we'll add a commented out note.

The cleanup shouldn't be too hard. Find and manually replace to adjust for possessives.

So far everyone who posted here seems for it.

Only thing I'd add is that in the game subtitles it's written as "Eagle Bearer" without a dash.

Soooo is this switch-over from calling the player character "Misthios" to calling them "Eagle Bearer" still going to happen?

I have just taken the initiative to complete the switch-over.

As a major contributor to the AC Wiki, I remember when the handle "misthios" was suggested by one of our own for the player character as a temporary measure before the release of the game. Since playing the game, it is clear that this choice was in error, and I fear the possibility that we were actually the ones who started the trend. Perhaps it was not, and multiple people deferred to this independently since promotional material only had that to go on from dialogue in trailers, but either way, I resolutely believe that it is incorrect to refer to the player character as "the Misthios". Characters sometimes calls the protagonist this in reference to their occupation, just as a child might call out "teacher!" or a patient may refer to their physician (rather discourteously) simply as "doctor" when speaking to them. However, aside from other mercenaries also being directly called "misthios" occasionally, the player character's actual alias as a mercenary is clearly "the Eagle Bearer" as shown in the mercenary menu. When NP Cs speak to their fame, they do not say "it's the misthios!" They say "it's the Eagle Bearer!"
