\\\'\\\'Mexican singer Lolita de la Colina\\\'s real name is Dolores de la Colina. The funny thing about her name is Dolores de la Colina can be translated from Spanish as a deformation of the Spanish phrase Dolores de la Cola (Pains in the Ass).\\\'\\\'

because Lola and Lolita are standard short forms of Dolores, just like \\\"Jim\\\" is a standard short form for \\\"James\\\", and Dolores is a very common Spanish name, referring to an [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_Sorrows advocation of the Virgin Mary]]. Dolores de la Colina isn\\\'t remarkable enough to merit being listed.

Mind you, other Spanish names for girls taken from Marian advocations are Angustias (\\\"Angst\\\"), Olvido (\\\"Oblivion\\\"), AsunciĆ³n (\\\"Assumption\\\", meaning roughly \\\"dead and taken to Heaven\\\") and so on. Oh, and ConcepciĆ³n (\\\"conception\\\"), that has as standard short forms \\\"Concha\\\" or \\\"Conchita\\\", which are hilarious to American Spanish speakers in countries where \\\"concha\\\" (a word unrelated to \\\"conception\\\" that means \\\"seashell\\\" or \\\"conch\\\") has a CountryMatters meaning to it.
