My impression is that the diary isn\'t really represent real diary, but Jennifer\'s memory of Hoffman. Another entry say Hoffman hold back his punishment when a girl (supposely Jennifer) start crying and apologize. My interpretion is that Jennifer finally remember that Hoffman isn\'t cruel pervert like her thought.
