openA book that I am almost positive was called "Jeb" or "Jed" Literature
Okay, so when I was a kid, my dad used to get my books on tape from the library constantly. There's 1 book I listened to about 15+ years ago that I SWEAR is real but I have not heard about ot since despite constant googling. So the book is about this boy called either Jeb or Jed, but I'm pretty sure it was Jed. The book is a diary in the style of Go Ask Alice but it's not a true story and as the days go by Jed is revealed to be suicidal (my dad didn't realise this when he gave it to me and confiscated it shortly after I finished it) and the rest of the book is him documenting his suicide plan and getting things in order. He buys his sister, who is an Elvis fan and a bit of a free spirit, some apple seeds and blue suede shoes for her birthday a few days before he goes through with his plan. He kills himself by taking a large dose of sleeping pills and jumping off a bridge into running water. As it turns out, he survives and the last pages are narrated by his little sister. The most vivid memory I have is the last line being "Instead you picked a rotten apple, you didn't see the blossoms. Maybe someday you will." Is anyone thinks this sounds remotely similar, please let me know! I know this book exists but I can't find it!!
openKids Live Action Fantasy Featuring Magic Artefacts and a Unicorn Live Action TV
This one's been bugging me for a while, but I watched part of a fantasy series when I was younger but can't for the life of me remember what it was called!
It was thematically similar to Chronicles of Narnia, which was on around the same time, so puts it in the 80's or early 90's I think, it's likely I was watching re-runs rather than its original airing. The show focused on a group of three or four modern-day (at the time) pre-teens or teens, possibly related, who discover a set of magical artefacts. I remember one being a sword, and another a chalice. These provide access to a fantasy realm, possibly in the past, from which the artefacts originate, but going there leaves the world vulnerable to others crossing over.
There was a unicorn that is somehow connected to the artefacts, and whom the children are trying to protect. I remember there being a connection to a house as well, possibly a deceased relative's, and I believe the artefacts are discovered there, with the owner having possibly been the previous protector of them.
It may have been a British show, but I'm not 100%; I went through life believed Round the Twist was British until I rediscovered it years later 😉
Probably a long shot, but I'm hoping someone out there might know what this show was called!
openkorean power ranger esque children's show? Live Action TV
This is gonna be very obscure. This show is from the early 2000s, probably around the time of Boys Over Flowers, and it's this children's show about a group of 5 kids finding these magical accessories relating to one of the 5 elements- necklace for fire, and other stuff for water, air(or wind), earth, and metal? And from these magical items you can summon weapons? These 5 kids correlate to 5 people in their past lives in a historical setting who uses the same kinds of weapons as they do, and the villain and antagonistic jealous lover is reincarnated too. The children seem to be very young, around grade school-middle school age. Help please!
openMusic Video that takes place in space Live Action TV
Hi, I'm trying to remember this music video, it's been bothering me for a while. Its got a 90's B-Movie sci Fi feel to it, it takes place on another planet (maybe on the moon) I thought it was by Ellie Goulding but I can't find anything of hers similar to what I remember. The lyrics mention something along the lines of guiding me home, or driving me home. Something about lights? I know it's a really horrible description but I'm hoping someone out there can help!
openSpanish teen tv show? Live Action TV
What is the name of the Spanish TV show about teen girls who lived in a house and competed in a reality tv show singing competition? I know there were two characters called Cheryl and Rosemary
openOld cartoon about zombie / frankenstein farm animals? Western Animation
No idea what the original air date was since I saw it dubbed in late 90s Poland. All I remember is that the artstyle was kinda like Rocko's Modern Life and the color palette was rather muted. Anybody?
openCreepy kids TV show Film
Looking for a kids tv series set in 2000s (possibly Australian, probably American) where there was a creepy premise always. My only memories of it include this girl being stuck in this house, that in some weird parallel universe the house was like a matchbox or shrunken and it got set on fire. The boy tries to help her get out of the fire. The only other scene I remember is the girl and boy being dressed in reneissance style gown and her walking down fancy stairs to go with him to a ball?? Both the girl and the boy were young and had dark hair. Thanks
openSomething featuring the song "Things That Stop You Dreaming" Live Action TV
I'm not entirely sure it was in fact a TV show, but I feel like I heard the song "Things That Stop You Dreaming" by Passenger featured in something relatively recently. Does that ring a bell for anybody?
openThis has been bothering me FOREVER Live Action TV
This show was on Netflix (I think it's gone now...) but I remember really specific episodes. The theme was people that survived the impossible, near death experiences, etc. I remember 3 episodes. A lady went on a run in a canyon with her dog, and didn't tell anyone. She fell into the canyon which caused her pelvis to be broken and lots of internal bleeding. She was stuck in this canyon for days, but her dog saved her. The second one was a man and his significant other were on a hike, and they went off the trail and got lost in the wilderness. They managed to find some guys camp, and it saved their lives, but he was dead (hit his head, tripped, idk) and a helicopter saved them. The third one was a dad who went hunting with his son. The son was badly mauled by a bear and because they had no med training, bare minimum supplies, and they were out in the middle of nowhere, the kid almost died. These were real stories (reenacted) and I can remember those three episodes, but not the title. Each story took up a full episode and it was either TV-PG or TV-14. Please help me!!!
openBASEBALL BOOK Literature
My teacher read us this in middle school in 1996. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the cover or much else of the book, but I remember a baseball boy team, I cannot remember how old the boys were. I think they were just playing baseball, not at a stadium just on field. The new guy was being made fun of by the rest of the team, and one of the guys was helping the new guy out, trying to fit in, but he later made fun of him as well. I cannot remember why. I know this is very vague, but I cannot remember much else. Does this seem familiar to anyone? Thanks.
openChildren's show where a character says a certain quote.
I am looking for a kids' show that was broadcast sometime between 1999-2003 in which a character says something to the effect of "Please, with spaghetti and cheese on top?". Whenever someone says "please", I'm reminded of this quote.
openLittle girl and bear 2000 tv show.
Does anyone remember a kids animated tv (possibly Australian, ABC kids) show in the 90s/2000s about a beige bear and a little girl. My only memory is from one episode where the bear goes into an underground tunnel (sewer) with a blowup donut, with the girl, but they lose each other in the dark and he keeps calling out her name. Not little bear. Thanks
open???
This show was on netflix, then disapeered. I only remeber part of the story line. The main charcter has special gloves that draw creatures out of some sort portal. The evil people use a elctric to hurt the creatures and bend them to there will. The main chacters read tablets to be able to summon different creatures. The main chacter is the first one in a long while to communicate and tounch the creatures, more than just giving them commands. He names it Bob. I rember one episode where they travel to a stone castle with lava to rescue some people. Another one the were defending an underwater city. Animated. Another episode where they traved in to the portals, because one of the organzations leaders was havng trouble summoning his green-ish elephat. Most of the organzation takes place in a cave under the earth. That's all I can rember.
openGirl Cartoon? Anime
I don't remember if it was an anime or not, but I distinctly remember watching it as a kid. The two main characters were girls and had magical powers. They fought monsters. They transformed like sailor moon and one had a white outfit and one had a black and pink outfit. I remember they said some cheesy line about "get back to the abyss from where you came" or something like that. I think it aired on YTV in the early 2000's
openKids' 3D-Animated tv show with nightmare about brussels sprouts Western Animation
They might have been robots? The kid throws away his brussels sprouts instead of eating them, and he gets nightmares about those sprouts taking over the world or his family turning into brussels sprouts. The same show might have had a special about their grandpa (robot) turning evil.
openChildren's book about fairies empowered by seasonal stars Literature
Each fairy 'belongs' to a particular season and manifests powers related to it as they grow up. Naturally, the protagonist doesn't know what season she is until the end of the book, when she creates fire to scare away a snake and realizes she's a summer fairy.
openMovie with mud people Western Animation
Ok so ive always wondered what movie this was. The movie (as i remeber) is about people going up this mountain?? And there was like a villian that was made of goop or mud or somethin?? And it was 3d animated. The only reason i remeber this movie is because there is one scene where the mud guy absorbs mud girls?? Anyways i was like 7 so it imprinted on me lol
openHuman Sacrifice on Docks
I'm trying to remember the name of a movie or TV show where a young woman was *super* stoked about being chosen to be sacrificed. The MMC might have tried to talk her out of it/help her, but she ended up having her throat slit on the docks in a public spectacle. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
What tv show and episode is this. A fathers lesbian daughter breaks off her wedding to her partner because she believes she is settling. The father ends up telling her she belongs with her partner because settling is ok. Settling is something good if you settle with someone you tolerate and can be happy with.
