openPuzzle Quest artist Videogame
Who's the artist who drew the characters for the videogame Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords?
openOld Flash game Videogame
I'm trying to find a Flash(?) game that was on either Newgrounds or Miniclip. It was a cowboy-themed platformer with pixel art graphics, kinda similar to Armadillo on the NES. I played it at some point between 2008 and 2011.
openResident Evil Game(?) Videogame
So, I remember watching my older brother play a rail-shooter Wii game, which my memory pins as a Resident Evil game. I only remember my brother getting very frustrated when fighting this one monster because he couldn't get it into the sunlight, which I guess is what you're supposed to do. I remember hearing a woman's voice saying something along the lines of "Aim for it's mouth!" and I think maybe she said "Get it into the sunlight!" I vaguely remember the "Mouth" monster looking like an alligator, while the "Sunlight" one was some kind of blob monster chasing you through a dark hallway. My memory sucks because it's been years. 2007-2008 is the range I'd put it.
Edited by Blazer_the_DelphoxopenUnkown city creator game for PC Videogame
I remember playing this game a long time ago at my friend's house. It was a city creator game, for the PC. It had an isometric perspective and had graphics similar to rollercoaster tycoon 2, even the poeple who walked around on the city streets looked like the people from rct2. There weren't many options of things to build; I remember you could make houses, churches, harbors, and probably some other things. Your houses start off as shacks but then can get upgraded until I assumed they eventually became skyscrapers. Everything seemed to look white. And no, it isn't transport tycoon. Anybody know this?
EDIT: I think I played it around the early 2000's, But I think it may have been older than that because of the graphics. I'm beginning to ponder the possibility that it was a game available only on the internet, on some now-dead link or something impossible to track down like that.
Edited by greatgodofmineworldopenCapture the flag Videogame
A probably pre-millennial turn-based PC game. You control a faction of either red or blue suited men in an attempt to defend your own flag and finding the others flag. That is, a literal flag, no FPS tropes at all. It's an 8-bit style game by the way.
openMy father used to play this game... Videogame
My father, rest his soul, played this game that was like a real time tower defense game. It involved creating hybrid animals, such as a lion with the horn of a rhino, or an eagle with the tail of a scorpion, and I remember that there was always a Tyrannosaurus roaring in the beginning, when the logos are displayed. I think it was only the silhouette, but I can't be sure. The last time I saw him play was when I was 5 or 6, over a decade ago. I always thought the game was interesting, but no matter how hard I look, I can't find anything like it. I know it was played on Windows 98.2, or perhaps Windows 95. I can't be sure of that either.
My best efforts to locate the game have turned up a fat sack of nothing; not even my mother can remember the name of the game, and this woman can remember when dinosaurs walked the earth (or at least the sitcom channels). My best guess though, based on the information I have, is that it was called Genewars. But again, I can't be sure.
openCebeebies Maze game? Videogame
So I remember playing a game on the Cebeebies websites years ago where you had to go through several mazes to deliver things to people? There was a polar bear maze, and others I can't remember. In one maze, you have to get to a picnic. It's not longer on the site and I don't remember what show it is associated with.
openOld fisher-price video game Videogame
When I was a toddler, say 2005, I had a Fisher Price video game that involved a pad that was connected wirelessly to my tv. I put different cards onto the screen of the pad, and that made different games show up on the tv. There was a game about Barney the dinosaur throwing a surprise birthday party, a game where Mr. Krabs forces Spongebob to capture all the jellyfish in Bikini Bottom, and a game about Cookie Monster. I had others that I don't remember. The cards on the pad had different buttons that you could choose. When you touched something on the pad, it made something happen on the tv.
resolved hidden objects mobile game Videogame
This is a mobile game that I got for free on the Google Play Store about a year ago.
It's a hidden objects game, but instead of looking for everyday things lying around a room, you are looking for objects - they can range from animals, to food, to household appliances, and so on - in a huge clump of objects positioned and colored to look like one big object.
In some levels, you have to find all the objects listed. In other levels, you have to find as many specific objects as you can before the time runs out.
There's a hint button that dims the lights a little, and creates a spotlight to indicate where an item is located.
After completing a certain number of puzzles, you must solve a jigsaw puzzle. Once you solve it, you unlock a new level. (You start out with two levels, and one is chosen at random each time you play.)
I could have sworn it was called something like "Little Things", but I tried searching that and couldn't find it.
openA Final Fantasy 3 like RPG Videogame
Its a final fantasy 3 like rpg (top down view of characters walking over small scale world. turn based combat. four in a party), released somewhere around 2005-2007.
It is about a swordsman who wants to participate in a sword fighting tournament. I think he was named Random, but I am not sure. Some of the party members found early on included his girlfriend who was a mage. An older friend who is a brawler who joins after we have a round of hand wrensling. and a pet animal.
It was also released as freeware in the CD that came with either Chip or Digit magazines.
I seem to remember it having lots of parts (seven or eight).
EDIT: Second part of the game starts after the tournament ends, and hero fails. The party members go their different ways to train. Hero goes to a sword fighting school. The brawler goes to train in wrestling and so on.
Edited by NisheethPopenSome old 1942 clone for PC Videogame
There was this game I played some times as a kid ages ago, following the 1942 formula (top down shmup, WW 2 planes, you could loop-the-loop to evade bullets, etc), it was probably for DOS (back when you didn't need a fucking 3rd party emulator to run DOS games), I think the main plane was not the P-38 like in 1942, or maybe you could pick your plane at the beginning, I can't really remember. I remember it had some nicely animated sprites, but it was dumb kid me, so take that with a grain of salt. This sounds vague but even googling just "ww2 shmup dos game", "dos 1942 clone", etc doesn't work for me. And it came in a magazine CD-ROM, so it was probably either freeware or shareware.
Edited by ElectricBoogalooopen90's PC Real Time Tactics game Videogame
I remember a PC game from maybe mid to late 90's. It was probably a Windows 95/98 game.
I believe it was a real-time tactics game where you primarily controlled a squad of ... either Vikings, Barbarians, Norse Warriors ... big tough guys with swords. The graphics were isometric and as realistic as you could get for the time (not cartoony at all).
I think it had light fantasy elements: I remember clearly that one of your men was called a Journeyman, and I think he was a healer for your team. Your soldiers were mostly all generic (they might have had randomly-generated names, but not important). If anyone died, a voice would say in a monotone, "Casualty."
As far as I know, you just had your team fight enemies as presented by the mission. No base building. I'm not sure, but I think if you won the mission your guys would celebrate by clanging their swords against their shields.
openComputer game like Diner Dash Videogame
It was this game that took place at some sort of '50s soda fountain. Name started with an "F", came out mid-2000s, had cartoony sprites.
openFPS Asylum Game (Not Outlast) Videogame
I saw this trailer on youtube for an asylum game. I remember that the player was holding a smartphone, kind of like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, and I thought it was the lastest Outlast game until I saw the title which I forgot.
Edited by randomtroper89openChildren's Reading Computer Game, early 2000s? Videogame
So this has been bothering me for a while now! I remember playing a game as a kid where it was one of those story computer games? You know, the ones where you can interact and have kind of a point-and-click screen as you read a book? It was one of those and I remember the plot vaguely. It was about these monsters who all had noses that were like instruments. (Think Squidward's clarinet style.) and they all rejected this one monster. He eventually went on to be a conductor and stuff and it was really cute.
It's DEEPLY bothering me that I can't remember what it is!
openPirate themed kid's computer game Videogame
Okay this was a pirate themed point and click for kids, sort of a Pajama Sam meets Monkey Island affair, if I remember correctly. I played it all the time at my cousin's house in the early 2000s. The main characters were a kid pirate and his monster sidekick, who I don't think had dialogue. For some reason I have the title "Moops and Bradley" associated with this game, but that brings up nothing on Google and "kids pirate game" is a lost cause too. I'd really appreciate some help with this one, because I'd love to play it again.
openMid-2000s multiplication edugame Videogame
I used to play this game where you played as a li'l alien guy going around and attacking these ogres to progress through like, basic stone dungeons. I think you had to collect snails as well? It was odd for sure, but it helped me learn times tables. My mother asked me what it was called yesterday and I can't remember for the life of me.
It's an iOS game that I think had a bout of Memetic Mutation one time. Basically it's a game where you take care of a bunch of cats, you use food to bait them and then you close the app, when you come back on all these cats come back onto there. The art style is kinda like Pusheen. I actually downloaded it earlier in the year, but now I forgot what it's called.
