As your friendly neighborhood Admin Team, the gang here at TVTropes HQ is always working to improve the site.
Many of those improvements begin with suggestions posted right here, on the Community Wishlist. Is there a feature you really want on TVTropes? Post it.
Is there something we could be doing better? We want to know. Do you think we look fat in these pants? We were totally afraid of that. See a bug? Report it.
Important things to know:
- We're all about that content-creation life! The top contenders for our attention are ideas that'll create more content, like the video uploading feature, or speed up launching new pages. On the flip side, design or layout tweaks won't be our top priority.
- Help us dig through the goldmine of old wishlist items! If you have an old request gathering dust or spot one you're totally on board with, give it a bump and a like. There's a treasure trove of 6+ years' worth of ideas just waiting to be rediscovered. Items without enough love may not make the cut and will be closed.
- Was your wishlist item locked up without an explanation? It was most likely disapproved or just too big of a task versus the benefit it would ultimately have. Time is precious, and we want to focus on updates with the biggest bang for the buck. Don't be discouraged though! We appreciate every idea and we're always listening.

And access to the other formatting options available on normal pages, for the Queries, Forums, Launch Pad, etc, would be nice too. 'Cause double-slashes, (or slashes in general?) don't work here... Which messes with things like allowing the following to go beyond a single line.

openA list of the pages wicked from a page, that aren't crosswicked back.
Requesting:
A list of the pages wicked from a page, that aren't crosswicked back..
Like for use with Pages Needing an Entry Pimp, Tropes Needing Examples, or something, to make crosswicking easier, so we don't have to check Related lists and the page source, side-by-side to see where crosswicking still needs to happen.
closed Way to propose/discuss name changes for work pages?
I'm thinking we should have a way to propose changes we think should be made (for disambiguation or translation policy reasons.) Right now, there are a few changes I want to see made, but I want a community consensus on them. There's no place to do that at the moment, barring individual topics in TRS, which is supposed to be for tropes.
closed Previews for forums
Can we please have a preview fuction for posts in forums? It would be very nice to have a means of seeing if links and formatting work so we do not have to go back and constantly edit. I’m sick of doing that when a red link of formatting failure occurs.
openlink to ykts in att header
Have a link to You Know That Show in the header of Ask The Tropers. Something along the lines of, "Trying to find a show (or other work) but can't remember the name of it? Ask at You Know That Show"
openA TVTropes app
pretty much that. Especially since with every new mobile (phone, tablet, etc.) system update, it seems to get harder to use the website on them.
openImage filenames
When I upload an image, the uploader doesn't let me rename it; instead it assigns it the name "image_[number]". Also, on an iPad at least, the text to put the image in an article is uncopiable.
Edited by LymantriaopenReview deletion
At the moment there's no way to deal with duplicate reviews or things the author has thought better of other than to flag it and hope the mods notice it in a timely manner. It'd be more efficient to let the authors delete their reviews. Since blanking is already possible, I don't think this'd do much other than streamline the process
openPreventing Multiple Repair Shop Calls for the same page.
jameygamer and I both made Repair Shop calls for Adults Only Rating actually being a Useful Note.
I would request a feature to stop such duplicates from happening.
Although, it would be pretty unlikely for that to happen, so it's pretty low priority, if it's even a priority at all.
openNotifiers: date/time of relevant edit instead of "recent"
When you send someone a notifier, the message heading is: "Your recent edit for...".
Often the receiving user will be confused about which edit the notifier is about (many users edit multiple times in a short timespan on certain works), and write back asking "Wait, WHICH edit?".
It would be better if the message title (which is automatically created anyway) didn't say "recent" but instead the timestamp of the specific edit, i.e. "Your 17 Dec '17 12:01 edit..."
Also, "recent" can be confusing because sometimes you'd like to send a notifier about an edit made, say, a few months ago, which most people don't consider "recent".
Edited by LB7979openTabs for images
On a lot of character pages, characters will have alternate (usually spoilery) appearances hidden in labelnote markup. This looks kind of awful.
Something that would look nicer is like what the Kingdom Hearts wiki does; there's tabs above the image that let you switch between its various forms. Example
closed No title
You should be able to search posts by user in Ask The Tropers and other forums that use the same design.
openAdd "Start Image Pickin' discussion" to menu on pages
In that grey menu bar at the top of Trope/Work/etc. pages (the one that starts with "Edit Page" on the left), it would be nice if there'd be an option "Start Image Pickin' discussion" (about that page) to click. That way, users don't have to go over to the Image Pickin' forum to manually type in the page address themselves, and more importantly, the moderators on that forum wouldn't have to fix accidental errors users make putting in the page address (currently users sometimes unintededly mis-type the page address).
^ Not something urgent, but hopefully something to consider for the 2.0 redesign.

Make hyphens not allowed in page titles.
