I see nothing wrong with doing people this courtesy, but I do want to be a punctilio and point out that stuff in his Patreon is available to the public. "The public" doesn't mean "people who don't sponsor one specific guy's Patreon".

^ Some creators consider Patreon content as early access instead of just paywalled platform exclusive content that the public has to buy in to see.

I figured I should clarify about this point, but otherwise, you're right, Michael.

I think our policy for troping early-access content is to wait until it's fully released; that's how it's handled for RWBY for one.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.

It's not early-access, though. Anybody at all can get it. I mean, lots of movies are available for free if you wait until they're on TV, but that doesn't make movie theatres early-access.

I think the difference is intent. For Patreon and Rooster Teeth, the whole idea is that the people who pay them get that access earlier than a non-payer would. It's part of the plan, an active reward for their active supporters

The gap also isn't huge, usually. It's not the same as movie theaters, where the time it takes to get to TV can be several months.

Early access, in this situation, means you get to see it a week or so before anyone else because your contributions helped us make it.
