Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Bumping because I don't know what upvotes mean in this context and would like actual feedback.
If the creator confirmed that he's not based off the wendigo then don't list him as a wendigo.
Edited by mightymewtron I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The thing is the creator has already said it's not the intention behind the design, putting it on the trope page is pushing the idea that it's official and a legit interpretation even though it's fan-driven and confirmed false. If you're that pressed, put it under YMMV in fanon along the lines of 'Even though creator says Alastor is not a Wendigo, many fans push the idea due to his deer motif and cannibalism.'. It NEEDS to acknowledge that the fans are pushing it, not the creator. It just comes off as someone likes the idea and wants other people to agree even with the disclaimer, it's not canon so don't list it with other canon material
Okay, that works. Thank you!
lolface123 added Wendigo back. As far as I can tell, this is lolface's first ever edit on Hazbin Hotel so this is not an edit war. I agree that wendigo should be left off the page, so I deleted the trope and added a hidden link to this query that will hopefully prevent anymore readditions.
I think people have been getting into an edit war over whether Alastair should have the Wendigo trope under his folder for Hazbin Hotels characters. I did partake in this, and I am sincerely sorry, but I do want to put this to rest now!'
So, just to ask, should we include it in his sheet? For clarification, Alastor has the lanky body, teeth and cannibalism traits associated with the legends, while his deer motif is reminiscent of pop-culture depictions of wendigo (and would explicitly be referred to as such). Also, the entry would explicitly be listed as unintentional, as Word of God confirms he wasn’t designed with a Wendigo motif in mind. He just happens to tick a few boxes for one.
Also, if my formatting is shit, I’m doing this using my phone.
