Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Bump.
ααααααα|I DO COMMISSIONS|αααααααLittle too late to worry about them now...
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessFair point. The draft's last edit was from 2013, and the last comment was from 2017. Anyone could have grabbed it...
And Seizure Ferret could have bothered to polish it than launch a rusty draft rather than someone else picking up their mess.
ααααααα|I DO COMMISSIONS|αααααααIf those tropes have significant issues, then they should be brought to TRS. Itβs far too late to resolve them in the TRS Crash Rescue thread.
back lolalnair, you shouldn't have made these edits to the trope. First of all, trope pages should have a finished appearance. If you want to draft something out, you can do it in a sandbox, but not on the trope page itself. And yes, it is way too late to be trying to send it back to TLP. Even if it weren't, trying to go about it the way you did is not the way to go.
If a recently rogue-launched trope has accumulated edits that need to be saved, those can go in a sandbox or something. If you need to leave a note to editors, it should be commented out. But it is not necessary in the case of de-launching tropes. Mods are the ones who send tropes back to TLP. Commenting out the trope's wicks on other pages like you did should wait until after the trope has been sent back to TLP, in case there is any dispute about it.
In this case, there is no sense in trying to send the trope back, so there was no point in commenting out all its wicks, or in putting that notice on the trope page, and either way that draft folder should not have been added to the description.
I'll be undoing these edits shortly.
ETA: Done, I think.
Edited by TwiddlerOkay. Apologies if these caused a commotion. Then again, there were a number of tropes that were rogue launched in 2018, especially after the site rehaul. Perhaps Overly Long Hug has been an overdue wonking for me, as nobody paid attention to it when I had addressed the sparse number of wicks and page hasn't been edited until earlier this year.
All I could say now is that it's almost hitting on Starving status on wicks once the trope hits the 3 year mark next year.
Edited by alnair20aug93 ααααααα|I DO COMMISSIONS|αααααααTbf, we do add notes to Rogue Launches all the time- when new. It's a preventative act more than anything. Because they were launched improperly and waiting for a mod, making such edits is accepted.
Alnair, buddy, sounds like you want TRS.
Edited by WarJay77 Current Project: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^ Indeed, yes. A TRS.
Actually starting one now.
Update: TRS link above.

What's the verdict of tropes were rogue launched years ago? Should they be sent back to TLP?
For example, Overly Long Hug (draft) was rogue launched back in 2018, launched by a nonparticipant who didn't grab it. I have addressed this at the Crash Rescue thread years ago, when I observed that it was not thriving, but the concern had been constantly ignored. Now, it has been reedited and wicked recently.
Should I still call for sending it back, or let it grow despite its illegitimate procedure?
And what to do with Jerk-to-Nice-Guy Plot and Friendship as Courtship? They were rogue launched in 2017 by a spree launcher, and their drafts seem to be discarded, and I do think that the're redundant to other existing tropes.
TRS for Overly Long Hug
