If the game drops hints that it's actually Earth, that's Earth All Along as an Implied Trope or Ambiguous Situation. I don't think having Earth animals counts as a hint by itself, though, many a conclusively not-Earth Constructed World (not quite a Standard Fantasy Setting in Thief's case) has had fairly normal rats and lions and chickens and the like.
I asked a long time ago but never got a reply so: what's the trope when it's unclear if the work takes place on Earth or just an Earth-like planet? Example: the Thief series takes place entirely in an (unnamed) city, and while the place is rather Earth like (including numerous Earth Animals), there are also a lot of fantasy elements like magic and undead, and we hardly learn anything about the rest of the world, leaving it unclear whether it's some fictional city in the past or another planet altogether.
