Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

It's a big stretch, IMO. There's a big difference between near-constant warfare and "not total universal peace".
Does anyone else have thoughts?
I will mimic what I said in the PM:
That's not an override. At the worst it is a Reality Ensues in that despite the generally optimistic outlook, everything isn't sunshine and lollipops.
It would be an override if Valerian taking the throne never happened, if the Daelaam never attained the unity and fractured back to Aeon of strife levels of infighting with No Khala to unite them, and the Zerg were actively on the warpath. Hell, going by the description of a happy ending override, we'd probably even need something like 'Amon is still alive, kerrigan never ascended'
Point is, the events of the supplemental material does not override the ending of SC 2. The ending still happened and is still treated as a landmark thing - despite the continuation of conflict. The terminology is very important for the Happy Ending Override trope.
To quote the trope description:
"This, however, is taking things far beyond simple Status Quo Is God. We leave an idyllic paradise and come back to a Crapsack World: the Golden Age has rusted over, chivalry has been stabbed in the back, the peaceful kingdom has transformed into an evil empire (or invaded by it, or both) and everything that our protagonists fought so hard to save has been pillaged and murdered by time and writers. The shaggy dog was shot while we weren't looking. The world is not only substantially worse off than it was when we last saw it, much of the time it's worse off than it was when the story began"
Neither of which is true. It's not even substantially worse off. There are conflicts, sure, but compared to the big strides made? These are bumps in the road.
This was meant to be on the StarCraft page, accidentally on the StarCraft page but subject to an edit war there so holding off on just moving it over.
Given reason for removal was:
"The happy ending of Starcraft 2 is not undone - Amon is still dead, The Hybrid are vanquished, life is still spreading across the Korprulu Sector, Valerian is still in charge of the dominion and working on leading into a prosperous future, the Daelaam as a whole are still united and more egalitarian than ever, and Raynor still hasn't been seen since he Earned His Happy Ending.
In short: the supplemental material do not override the happy ending of Starcraft 2, which is a fairly critical aspect of the Happy Ending Override."
The ending of Starcraft 2 actually says that under Valerian and Matt Horner, "the Dominion enters an age of prosperity and peace", which is undone by subsequent expanded universe material — Valerian's rule is not secure due to Terran opposition both within and outside the Dominion, the Terrans still live in fear of Zerg and Protoss attacks, and the three races have a truce but a very uneasy one.
Can others weigh in on if they think the trope is being used properly?
