The troper responsible is Tropers.Getsugaru. I have sent them a message on the subject.

They have gotten back to me on the message. They claim that a note at the top of Characters.Yu Gi Oh 5 Ds, Characters.Yu Gi Oh VRAINS, and Characters.Yu Gi Oh dictates that the Japanese names take priority.
Looking at the extended history
for the main characters page, Tropers.Oreochan put the note there, and the extended history for Characters.Yu Gi Oh VRAINS points to Tenma-Yuuki adding the note to that page, too.
Greetings, all. My apologies for the improper edits of that page; I had noticed those notes preciously mentioned and had also compared the pattern present on the other character pages and had determined that it needed to be edited to match the others. I have since been informed of the mistake and will do better in the future. With that being said, I must admit I find it curious that the policy is not to use the original names but instead the names provided by "translators" such as 4kids Entertainment. I am not here to debate that, however. Apologies for the inconvenience I caused; I will endeavor to do better from this point onward. (It's unfortunate that their isn't some form of clause or switch that could allow users to set their preference in this matter, but that too is a matter for elsewhere...)
Whether you like it or not, the names arent intended for a hardcore Japanese or whatever language the original is in. If the most recent "translation" uses certain terminology we go with that. Period.

Need a revert for Characters.Yu Gi Oh GX Main Characters back to the May 18th version. The only edit (at least noteworthy one) made between now and then was to change all the English names to the Japanese ones, which goes against wiki policy.
