Not by itself. If you've previously added it and it got reverted, then yes.

If you have actually discussed the change in question with the editor that reverted it, and you came to an agreement, it's not edit warring.

In that case, it's also good manners to invite the one who removed it to the thread and join in the discussion.

So you should PM the person beforehand? I added back an example from Dinosaur Planet after questioning whether it counts or not. I guess I'll PM the troper just in case.

I haven't gotten a reply back.

If they haven't edited the wiki since around the time you sent the DM, they may not have come online yet.

I still haven't gotten a PM back. Either they're off-line or they just didn't answer back. Would it be okay to place the example in this case?

I think revealing it either here or on a thread would be wise.

For which work? Also that feels a bit zero-context.

^ Dinosaur Planet. How would you add more context to an Amazing Technicolor Wildlife example?

Looking at the trope description, it seems like they're should be more to it than "too brown to be gray". There is a section specific to wolves but that's more about being a solid color ("Solid brown or gray fur, with or without white spotting. Only black and white wolves have solid coloring, with others being agouti mixes of gray, brown, white, tan, and/or rust.")

For more context I could suggest saying whether that's common to all "gray" wolves or if it's distinct compared to other wolves.

^ Maybe they exist, but I've never seen a gray wolf with fur as brown as Sabre's.

Which doesn't really take away from my point that "too brown to be gray" does not, to me anyway, seem like enough to warrant the trope. In fact, whether brown gray wolves actually exist or not is something that could probably be added for that additional context.

I've seen a lot of issues with appearance trope ZCEs so maybe I'm being pickier than I need to be. At the same time, though, better too much than too little.
